The purpose of Chowmunga.com is to review home based business opportunities and to determine if they are worthy of pursuing. Not only will I look at new and exciting ideas that might be considered “sexy”, but I will also take a look at those mundane businesses like janitors and window washers to see what kind of money might be able to be made.
This blog is NOT about making money online! This is about businesses in general. So, while there will be discussion of businesses online; however, the majority of ideas discussed will be those so called “off-line” businesses. However, I will from time to time review some of the home-based business ”ideas” sold online, and give my opinion as to whether they are legitimate or whether they are scams.
I hope that this blog will not only generate fresh ideas for you, and hopefully give you some business knowledge in your own venture; but it will also be thereputic for me. I have a small issue with jumping from idea to idea. I tend to think of a new idea…well…just about everyday! So, I hope that putting them down here will not only help me walk through the value of the idea, but will also provide you with value through that process.
What qualifications do I have to take on such a venture? Well, maybe not much; but who needs qualifications to be an entrepreneur! Seriously, never give in to the naysayers simply because you don’t have all the “education” or “real-world” experience.
Having said that, I do have a BA degree in Finance and an MBA with an empasis in Small Business and Entrepreneurship. I have written several business plans, and even took first place at an MBA business plan competition.
I currently work as a Business Advisor at a large financial institution, where I consult with business owners every day and help them grow their business. So, I have at least been around succesful business owners, and I am hoping that some of that success has rubbed off. More importantly I hope to share some ideas and insights of value that may spark your next big idea!
I am deeply concerned with value on this website. I dont want to provide just fluff or filler. I want to get to the meat of the ideas, what sort of strategies are important, what sort of target markets to look at, and really how to analyze these businesses ideas to see if they will be successful.
I am also VERY perturbed with all the “ideas” online that are touted as the next greatest thing. All you have to do is send $497 and they will send you a complete kit on how to make your first million. This is a load of crock! Anyway, I hope to spend some time exposing these fake ideas as well in order to help you avoid them.
I am also more than happy to analyze a specific business idea that you have. If you are willing to share it, I will gladly walk through the analysis process as I do with all the business ideas posted here.
