Okay, so everyone knows that you can make a little extra cash selling your old junk at garage sales. But I would like to discuss (or debate) whether or not you think a person could make a good part-time (or maybe even full-time) income doing just garage sales!
I am going to put myself out there and say…YES! I think that someone who is serious about it, could make an extra $2,000 a month, each and every month. If you think I’m crazy, let me know.
Here are my reasons. First of all, people (some people) love garage sales. Its the thrill of the hunt, its something to do on Saturday, and where else are you going to find old Atari games? Nobody likes to clean a dirty closet. That’s exactly why people will be willing to pay big bucks to have it cleaned!
Okay, before you laugh or worse, leave this website; lets analyze it a bit. Let’s try and figure out if this business could make you $100k per year. That’s WELL above the median household income, so I know most people would be happy with that.

Everyone loves chocolate.
They love it even more when its flowing like a chocolate waterfall! Just think of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (one of the greatest and yet oddest movies of all time). I always loved to imagine eating the gallons of chocolate pouring into the chocolate river. If you have not already experienced chocolate fountains at a wedding or other gathering, your are really missing out!

If you have ever tasted homemade root beer; you know its delicious. But is it possible that brewing some homemade root beer a million dollar business idea? Well, that’s a big MAYBE. But it certainly worked for A&W, Mug Root Beer, and Hires (just to name a few).
For example, A&W began in 1919 when Roy Allen set up a roadside stand in Lodi, CA and sold his home made root beer to returning WWI soldiers and their families. People loved it so much, that he decided to take on a partner (Frank Right, hence the A&W) and opened their first permanent root beer stand. By 1933 they already had over 170 outlets franchised.
So if you want to make millions in the root beer business, the key to success is great taste, marketing, and a solid strategy.
